Caesars Palace opened its showing of The Pussycat Dolls in one of its new lounges. Many stars were in attendance, most notably, the show opener Eva Longoria.

The monorail is currently closed for continued maintenance problems.

Las Vegas, NV - Rosemary’s at the Rio
Rosemary’s at the Rio has closed, but Rosemary’s on West Sahara will remain open for business.  Gift Certificates and other offerings will be honored at the West Sahara location.

Las Vegas, NV - Coast Casinos
Coast Casinos stockholders just approved a merger with Boyd Gaming.  Hotel executives expect the deal to close later this year.

Las Vegas, NV - Aladdin Hotel & Casino
PF Chang’s, with its flagship location in the Aladdin Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas, now takes reservations. Now, patrons who plan ahead, will not be required to wait as long given they call ahead.  This PF Chang location relies heavily on foot traffic, given its location in the Aladdin Hotel.

ARK, which operates 8 food & beverage outlets at Las Vegas area hotels has announced it is moving forward with a new technology that converts raw data from restaurant operations POS systems, and evaluates it in terms that aid operators in increasing revenues and lowering costs.

Las Vegas, NV - Bellagio Hotel & Casino
Bellagio Hotel & Casino has announced that they have made a deal with Andrew Sasson of Light and Mist to open FIX restaurant in the hotel. Hotel executives indicate their anticipation of FIX, which will offer a pre-show dinner as well as late night dining.

Las Vegas, NV - Harrah’s Entertainment
MTR Gaming completed the purchase Binion’s Horseshoe from Harrah’s in March of 2004. Harrah’s will stay on as the interim operator for at least 1 year.  Binion’s Horseshoe in downtown Las Vegas was purchased by Harrah’s Entertainment the beginning of 2004 in wake of Federal Marshalls, local Unions and Gaming Officials crackdown on the former owner’s benefits obligations to its union employees that caused the closing of the Las Vegas hotel and casino.  Harrah’s also noted that the World Series of Poker will go on as planned.

THE Hotel at Mandalay Bay Las Vegas is the latest entry for the conventioneer/business traveler/spa junkie market. It’s rooms are almost twice as large as the standard room at Mandalay Bay, and service standards are supposed to be a tad higher as many of the Las Vegas Corporate Hotels extend the offerings of Las Vegas.

Coast Casinos has recently begun construction on its Ultra South Las Vegas Strip property.  Coast Casinos headquartered in Las Vegas is known for value vacations and gaming, and is also popular with Las Vegas locals. This will now be the first hotel and casino stop in Las Vegas off the I-15 from California.
